For more than 7 years, I've been talking to women about their businesses almost every day and one thing lots of them have in common is this idea that when things aren't going to plan, they must be the problem. That couldn't be further from the truth. They are incredible, talented, inspirational and a million other great words that I don't have space for here.
There comes a point in most businesses where being a one (wo)man band just doesn't cut it anymore. Don't get me wrong, you are AMAZING. You have built something incredible that people love BUT, things just aren't growing the way they used to and you're exhausted, probably teetering on burnout.
It isn't always easy to know when is the right time to bring in somebody else so here are 5 signs that it's time:
It’s so rarely a case of “build it and they will come.”
As lovely as that sounds, most people build something brilliant… and hear crickets.
So if you’ve got a great product but no sales, the first step is asking whether you have a people problem or a product problem.
Spoiler: it’s usually the people.
It feels like every day there’s a new post on LinkedIn warning that if you don’t completely adopt AI immediately, you’ll be left behind. Lost in the dust of the tech savvy who overtook you in the rat race.
I want to offer an alternative opinion.
Okay let’s talk about the reality of running a business all the time.
I was lucky enough to take a family holiday this month - 2.5 glorious weeks in the Dominican Republic. It was heaven on earth… until it wasn’t.
You’ve got a business idea buzzing around your head and you can’t stop thinking about it. Maybe it’s a course, maybe it’s a membership, maybe it’s something you’d love to create one day.
But here’s the niggling thought that keeps you stuck:
“What if nobody bloody buys it?”
The terms VA and OBM are often thrown about and used interchangeably. You might even have found yourself Googling something along the lines of “Do I need a VA or an OBM?” and you wouldn't be alone.
Creating an online course is technically something that anybody could do and if you think you know something that could help other people, I highly recommend that you do too.
“Download this free PDF to discover how I made £100,000 with an online course and learn how you could do it too."
It’s exactly this kind of rubbish that made me write this post...
The majority of people I talk to, aren’t ready for an OBM (Online Business Manager) yet and I tell them as much. But another issue people face is knowing when they are ready...
Ever felt completely overwhelmed by a big goal? Like, so overwhelmed you just wanted to bury your head in the sand and pretend it didn't exist?
Yeah, me too...
Think of customer feedback as your secret weapon for business growth. It's like having a direct line to your customers' brains (without the whole mind-reading thing, thankfully!)...
